Finance guru: ‘Controversial’ project championed by Liverpool could be on the cards after £13bn news
The Super League project could be resurrected in the future – but Liverpool will not be one of the main drivers as they were last year.
So says finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the plot to establish a new order in European football.
Liverpool were one of six Premier League clubs to throw their weight behind the breakaway league in April last year.

All of the English clubs quickly withdrew their support after a monumental backlash, but Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus still back the initiative.
As relayed by The Times last Wednesday (9 February), Uefa are set to unveil a new £12.6billion rights package for the Champions League.
Uefa and the European Club Association are understood to believe that the new deal will be a death knell for hopes of a Super League resurrection.
But Plumley predicts that, with or without Liverpool’s blessing, the breakaway league is not gone for good
“I’m going to stick my neck out and say we haven’t heard the last of it,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“I think we’ll see it come back around again. The controversy was so strong this time because we got closer to it than ever before.
“It might not be driven by the English clubs. It’s primarily a Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus idea. They are the ones that are sticking with it.
“The drivers might be different. The rights cycle is set for three years and it’s always when the renegotiations come around that you start to hear noises.
“Whether or not we see it in the next three to five years, I don’t know. But I don’t think it’s dead in the water entirely.
“I’m convinced that the bigger clubs think they can go towards the American model and do it better themselves.”

FSG and Liverpool owner John Henry committed to establishing a supporter presence at executive level after the collapse of the Super League.
The six-time champions return to Champions League action away to Inter Milan tomorrow.
