Finance guru salutes Liverpool chiefs as ‘excellent’ new sponsor deal will have ‘big impact’
A newly-announced Liverpool commercial deal could have a “big impact” in the local community.
So says finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the deal with Vista was confirmed last Thursday (3 February).
Vista will be the Merseysiders “official small business design and marketing partner” as part of a multi-year agreement.

Liverpool are set to work with the brand to develop programmes for small businesses around Anfield as well as in the wider club community.
This will include a “Small Business of the Match” experience on matchdays.
Local companies will have the opportunity to share the same advertising space as global giants Nike, AXA, and Expedia.
Plumley praised the new partnership and insisted it will pay dividends with “excellent PR”.
“We know football clubs are inextricably linked to their communities,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams
“That has become even more clear over the course of the pandemic. This just seems like a good initiative all-around.
“Even though the big clubs are earning millions, they still want to be seen to be engaging in the community.
“Something like this is a real positive story. It will have a big impact locally and it’s excellent for PR as well.
“It almost becomes more important for these global clubs to keep the local roots the bigger they get.”

Liverpool are expected to their release their accounts for the 2020-21 campaign in the coming weeks.
They raked in £217m in commercial income in the last recorded financial year.
