Lucas Leiva sent a message of congratulations and support on Instagram to Joe Gomez after he was pictured in training the day after making a comeback appearance.
Gomez played 45 minutes as a second-half substitute during a friendly between Liverpool and Accrington Stanley at Melwood during the international break.
Lucas shared an image of the pair on social media site Instagram alongside Dejan Lovren and Sheyi Ojo, who also returned to training on Monday after missing three months through a back injury.
Lucas lined up alongside Gomez during the 5-0 friendly victory and there were also appearances from a number of regular first teamers including Emre Can, Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Alberto Moreno and James Milner.
The youngster joined Liverpool in 2015 from Charlton Athletic and is yet to make an appearance under Jurgen Klopp since picking up his injury.
However, he was hugely impressive under Brendan Rodgers in the left-back role, making eight appearances for the first team and learnt his trade as a centre-back so offers versatility in defence.
In other Liverpool news, opposition fans have reacted to the news that Jordan Henderson will captain England in Wayne Rooney’s absence on Tuesday evening against Spain.
