Liverpool set to complete ‘monumental’ signing after source’s update today – pundit
Liverpool could announce a new signing before the end of the transfer window but it will be a “difficult” deal to do.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Reds’ injured stars.
Liverpool are currently going through an injury crisis and are missing several key midfielders.

Jurgen Klopp, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano, told reporters on Friday (26 August) that “we are going for a midfielder” in the final days of the transfer window.
Sources told Football Insider on Saturday (27 August) that Liverpool now have a ‘verbal ‘agreement’ with Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham and he could even sign for the club in January.
Kenny insists a new signing could inspire Liverpool to turn around their poor start to the season.
“When a new signing comes in, it can just give everyone a monumental lift,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I have been there as a player and sometimes when that new guy comes in, it just focuses minds and gets everyone thinking straight.
“So we will see what Liverpool do but I certainly think they need a bit more depth if they are going to challenge this season.
“Everyone knows that so I’m sure they will do it. But we know Liverpool only sign the players they are absolutely sure about and that might a difficult thing to do with so little time left in the window.”

Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay this summer.
Nunez still faces two games on the sidelines after being sent off against Crystal Palace (15 August).
