Liverpool set to offer ‘frightening’ Sadio Mane new deal after what pundit has seen
Sadio Mane will get a new Liverpool contract as he has plenty of years left at the top level.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the “frightening” star.
Mane, 30, scored twice against Man City on Sunday (17 April) before bagging another goal against Man United on Tuesday (19 April).
Following the signing of Luis Diaz in January and Diogo Jota’s impressive form, it had been suggested Mane, who is out of contract in the summer of 2023, could fall down the pecking order at Anfield.
However, a recruitment source told Football Insider (17 April) that Liverpool chiefs want Mane tied down and that the attacker himself wants to stay.
“He’s frighteningly good, isn’t he?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There is no way he’s leaving. Liverpool have one of the best attacks in the world and they don’t want to weaken that.
“He has proved how good he is over the last few weeks, not that we needed anymore proof.
“He’s one of the ones who is out of contract next summer so you would think Liverpool will want to tie him down with some of the goals he’s been scoring.
“I think that will get sorted. They want to keep Salah and Mane, those kinds of world-class players.“

Mane has scored 116 goals in 260 games for Liverpool since joining the club from Southampton in June 2016.
The Reds are next in action against Everton on Sunday (24 April).
