Liverpool should have ‘big worries’ over Trent Alexander-Arnold as new claim emerges – pundit
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defensive qualities are still a “big worry” for Liverpool, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict after Anthony Gordon had Alexander-Arnold “on toast” during Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Everton on Sunday (24 April).
According to the sofascore, the 23-year-old won just two of his seven duels, committed two fouls and received a yellow card at Anfield.

As quoted by the Daily Mail last month (17 March), Jurgen Klopp insisted he would “knock down” anybody who criticised his right-back’s defensive ability.
But Agbonlahor has insisted it was once again exposed by the inexperienced Gordon in the Merseyside derby despite Liverpool’s victory.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “The Sky Sports commentary was biased to give a Liverpool player the man of the match.
“It was Divock Origi that got it but it was Gordon who really had Trent Alexander-Arnold on toast.
“For me, that’s a really big worry when you look at Alexander-Arnold going forward for England in tournaments.
“If he’s getting beaten so easily by a youngster for Everton.”
Alexander-Arnold’s attacking qualities have never been in doubt and he has 18 assists, including 12 in the Premier League, in 40 games across all competitions this term.

Only teammate Mohamed Salah with 13 has more assists in the top-flight this season.
Liverpool are next in action on Wednesday (27 April) when they host Unai Emery’s Villareal in the Champions League semi-final first leg.
