Medical expert reveals ‘true extent’ of Alisson Becker blow amid Liverpool latest
Alisson Becker’s abdominal issue is “nothing too serious” and the Liverpool goalkeeper will be eyeing a return in the Community Shield clash against Man City next Saturday (30 July).
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.
Alisson, 29, pulled out of a recent Liverpool training session during the club’s tour of Thailand and Singapore.

As quoted by the Liverpool ECHO last Sunday (17 July), Reds boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that the Brazilian “felt something” and is unable to train at high intensity.
Alisson is expected to miss the penultimate friendly clash against RB Leipzig on Thursday (21 July).
But Dinnery insists that the problem is only minor and that he will not miss the start of the Merseysiders’ 2022-23 campaign.
“This is an abdominal issue,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“The true extent is that it is nothing too serious, although the demands and the physicality of Alisson’s position mean it can be quite uncomfortable.
“Had it been a Premier League or Champions League, there would have been a decision made as to whether to risk him or not.

“But at this stage in the pre-season programme, it’s not worth taking any risks. There is far less on the line, so it just makes sense to treat it like this.
“But it’s nothing too serious and he is in with a good chance of making that Community Shield game against Man City.”
