Liverpool star ‘needs to go’ after ‘absolutely embarrassing’ performance vs Man City

Arne Slot has much to address after Liverpool’s latest concerning performance, this time against Man City which has dented their title hopes.

Liverpool lost 3-0 at Man City, to remain eight points behind league leaders Arsenal who drew 2-2 at Sunderland a day earlier.

The Reds are outside the top four and in eighth position, with defeat at Man City there fifth in six matches in the Premier League.

Slot may welcome the international break, with Nottingham Forest the visitors to Anfield when the Premier League returns on November 22nd.

Ibrahima Konate ‘the worst centre-back’ in Liverpool history

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate’s contract expires at the end of the season, with the Frenchman heavily linked to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old though did not cover himself in glory with a poor display, slammed by Liverpool supporters.

“Konate gone. Play Gomez from now on. Lock down Guehi and Semenyo in the winter,” one fan urged the club to do.

Until Konate and Mo [Salah] are properly replaced in the team then we’ll be miles off,” another fan claimed.

One fan said on the Man City performance: “That was dreadful. Your strongest team isn’t known; you’ve got to drop Wirtz and Konate as a minimum; one doesn’t have what it takes; the other is too mistake prone.”

Konate shouldn’t play for us again,” a supporter commented on social media.

Konate is the worst CB in our history. He makes Skirtel look like prime Maldini,” was a damning verdict by one fan.

One Liverpool fan posted: “Salah bossed by a kid Konate played in roller blades again. Wirtz completely pointless. Slot……what was the game plan. But but We WoN TwO gAmEs Bradley & Szobo are the only ones who did anything today imo.

More defensive issues for Arne Slot

Man City claimed a comfortable victory, in a contest which is often won by the finest of margins between two frequent title challengers.

It looks though that only Man City will be able to keep pace with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, due to Liverpool’s continued defensive concerns.

The Reds did register back-to-back clean sheets in victories over Aston Villa and Real Madrid in the past week, but Slot’s side have now conceded 17 goals in 11 Premier League games.

Any chance of retaining their Premier League crown will be dependent on tightening up at the back.
