Liverpool star surely now undroppable after what he did, Man United should be petrified
Liverpool’s start to the 2025-26 campaign has been far from perfect as Arne Slot’s side faced three straight defeats before the international break.
Chelsea claimed a 2-1 win over Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, with Estevao netting a last-gasp winner, which also occurred in a frustrating defeat to Crystal Palace just seven days prior.
Giovanni Leoni has suffered a season-ending injury, joined by Alisson on the sidelines for the upcoming weeks, and it could get worse for the Reds as they prepare to face Man United on Sunday, 19 October.
Ibrahima Konate could return to Anfield with a new injury, and Slot is running low on options at the back, but one area of the pitch that is stacked to the very top is midfield.

Arne Slot has too many options in the middle of the park
Ryan Gravenberch has been sensational, bagging two goals and two assists across all competitions. Dominik Szoboszlai has also been key, but he has been deputising at full-back in some games.
Florian Wirtz is yet to get his feet off the ground, while Curtis Jones has been instrumental off the bench.
Alexis Mac Allister, on the other hand, has had a mixed bag of performances, still starting six of the Reds’ eight Premier League matches so far this term.
He ranks in the 48th percentile for number of tackles, the 33rd percentile for percentage of duels won, and he also only ranks in the 59th percentile for recoveries [FotMob].

Nonetheless, he has once again shown just how integral he can be to the starting lineup, and also just how undroppable he can be on his day. Sadly, he has been subbed off before the 70-minute mark on four occasions.
Alexis Mac Allister sends a clear message after Liverpool struggles
On Wednesday, 15 October, Argentina played Puerto Rico in a friendly fixture. Even with Lionel Messi on the pitch, Mac Allister stole the show before heading back to Anfield.
While his match fitness may be a little lower than his teammates’, he has proven over the years that he can be depended on to be an absolute monster in the middle of the park.
Of course, Man United and Ruben Amorim would love to see him benched or even rested, but based on his performance, he should be thrown straight back into the lineup. He should be undroppable.
As well as scoring twice, the 26-year-old created a chance, made 11 recoveries, unleashed a total of six shots, and played a huge role with 72 touches during his 90 minutes on the pitch.
If he can produce a similar performance against the Red Devils, victory should be pretty simple for Slot.
