Liverpool news: Medical expert issues ‘huge’ Mohamed Salah verdict after training ground reveal

It is likely that Mohamed Salah will be fit to face Arsenal tomorrow night (16 March) – and that is “huge” news for Liverpool.

That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.

Salah, 29, was taken off shortly after scoring from the spot in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brighton last Saturday (12 March).

Jurgen Klopp explained that the Egyptian forward appeared to have “overstretched his foot,” per club media immediately after the game.

But as quoted by Sky Sports today (15 March) the German boss revealed that Salah “is ready to train” ahead of the clash at the Emirates.

And it will be no surprise to see the Premier League’s top scorer involved against the Gunners, claims Dinnery.

“The Egyptian FA have confirmed that he’ll be involved in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.

“Salah wasn’t involved in training on Monday but he has more or less been given the green light to resume activities with the squad.

“It was swollen and painful, but as the days have moved on he has responded really well to treatment.

“They have checked and scanned and there looks to be no damage around the ankle.

“So I am confident that, as long as he comes through the training session without any issues, he’ll be in and around the squad against Arsenal.

“That’s huge news for Jurgen Klopp. He’s planning how to deal with a difficult opponent, and you need your very best available to do that.”

Salah’s 35 appearances this term have yielded 28 goals and 10 assists.

Liverpool are looking to make it nine wins on the bounce against in-form Arsenal tomorrow.
