Liverpool tipped to accept new Saudi offer for Mohamed Salah after source’s reveal today

Liverpool can’t turn down a £150million-plus offer for Mohamed Salah from Saudi Arabia.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie suggested that the Reds have adequate replacements if Salah were to move on in the coming days.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have already rejected an offer of £100m from Al Ittihad, that also included add-ons taking the potential fee up to £150m, for their star attacker.

But Liverpool are braced for a new bid worth £200m including add-ons, sources have told Football Insider in the last 24 hours.

The 31-year-old’s current contract runs until 2025 after signing an extension last summer but has been the subject of massive interest from the Saudi Pro League as they enter the final days of their window.

Although the English window closed on 1 September, clubs in Saudi Arabia have until 7 September to pursue targets.

McAvennie insisted Al Ittihad will have to bump up their offer to tempt Liverpool.

I think they can turn down £100m,” he told Football Insider.

They will say no because he guarantees goals and they will get that money if they get a Champions League spot next year and they will get there if they keep him.

But I think if he does go Liverpool will have a resurgence. I think they have got some really talented players. I think [Darwin] Nunez could lead the line and take over from Salah, I think he can score 20 goals a season easily.

Salah, whether they replace him or not, is going to score 35-plus goals a season. But what they will do if they get rid of him is they will spread the goals around more.

For just over £100m I do not think they will say yes. Unless Salah wants to go. He would be the star player, he will be bigger than Neymar if he goes over there.
