Liverpool tipped to U-turn on Naby Keita after what pundit has seen
Liverpool will table Naby Keita a new contract at the end of this season.
That is the view of ex-Tottenham and England number one Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 27-year-old’s future on Merseyside.
Keita starred for the Reds in recent wins over Newcastle United, Everton and Man City.
The centre-midfielder scored the only goal of the game at St. James’ Park on Sunday, albeit in controversial fashion after James Milner’s strong tackle on Fabian Schar.
A £52.75million signing from RB Leipzig in July 2018, Keita has just over 12 months remaining on his contract at Anfield.
Football Insider revealed in February 2021 that Keita’s future was up in the air last season.

Robinson believes the club have U-turned on that position and will be keen to retain his services long-term.
“I think a new contract will be on the table come the summer and he has earned it,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“The manager trusts him, you can see that now. He is playing him in big games. It is not as if he is playing a bit-part anymore.
“The squad is being rotated but Keita is playing in big games. His performances warrant a new deal and I think he’ll get it in the summer.”
Keita has enjoyed his best season in a Liverpool shirt.
He has contributed four goals and two assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
