‘Liverpool to block second star from following Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid’
Real Madrid are targeting Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister as part of a summer rebuild following the imminent departure of Carlo Ancelotti.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Madrid could raid the Premier League to strengthen their squad.
However, Liverpool have no intention of letting the 26-year-old leave as Arne Slot is not prepared to weaken his squad after winning the Premier League.
Slot has already identified key areas for improvement this summer and allowing Mac Allister to leave would only cause further disruption.
This comes after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid has forced them into the transfer market to look for a replacement at right-back.
Football Insider revealed on 5 May that Liverpool will sign a first-choice right-back to replace the England international after he officially confirmed his departure.

Liverpool respond to Real Madrid interest in Alexis Mac Allister
Mac Allister has played the fourth-most minutes of any Liverpool player across all competitions this season and remains a vital part of Slot’s plans.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has claimed he will not be allowed to leave Anfield regardless of the interest from Madrid.
“It would shock me if Liverpool were open to letting him go,” he told Football Insider.
“They’ve won the Premier League fairly comfortably and they want to strengthen in the transfer market.
“After losing Trent Alexander-Arnold, they need a new right-back, and then they want to strengthen up front as well, they know where they want to improve.
“If they let another key player leave, it just means there’s another player they have to replace.
“Real Madrid are going to have a busy summer themselves.
“Carlo Ancelotti is leaving and it looks like Xabi Alonso will replace him and he’ll want his own players.
“There’s a lot of talk about players they want at centre-back and in midfield, and they’re looking in the Premier League for these top-level players.
“Mac Allister is one of the players on their radar, but Liverpool have no intention of selling.
“He’s been a key player there and they will not want to weaken their squad.”

Arne Slot makes Darwin Nunez exit decision
While Slot remains keen to keep the majority of his first-team squad together this summer, one player he will allow to leave is Darwin Nunez.
Football Insider revealed on 11 May that Nunez looks certain to leave Liverpool amid interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League and La Liga.
Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed on 4 March that Nunez wants to leave Liverpool after being denied the chance to move to the Saudi Pro League.
The Reds turned down a big-money offer from Al-Hilal in the mid-season window, leaving the Uruguay international disillusioned and angling for a move.
