‘Liverpool to sell Diogo Jota after Arne Slot revelation’ – Fans devastated

Diogo Jota needs be replaced following the latest update from Arne Slot, unhappy Liverpool fans have claimed.

Having missed his side’s last 11 games due to injury, the striker returned to action from the bench against Fulham on Saturday (14 December).

It was a successful return to action for the Portugal international as well, as he netted a late goal to secure a 2-2 draw for his side, who had been down to ten men since Andy Robertson’s early sending off.

However, in the aftermath of that, Slot’s latest update on Jota has now left some supporters questioning his future at Liverpool.

Liverpool fans suggest Diogo Jota exit after fresh update

Following his return against Fulham, it appears as though the striker 28-year-old has now given his side another scare ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final with Southampton on Wednesday (18 December).

As per The Athletic’s Ian Pearce, Slot has confirmed that Jota was unable to train ahead of that game, and will not start against the Saints.

Liverpool

Taking to social media to react to that, many Liverpool fans were left to question if that latest apparent setback means the club should move him on in the transfer window, to sign a more reliable striker.

The Portuguese’ injury record was branded so bad it’s “funny”, while one fan simply wrote “sell, sell, sell”, while another suggested the issue was the reason Slot’s men wouldn’t be Premier League champions.

In other news, Liverpool will have to pay a “huge” fee to sign one Premier League player in the transfer window.
