Liverpool told to accept offers for Naby Keita and big-name teammate after source’s reveal – pundit

Alan Hutton has told Liverpool to “cut their losses” on Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender suggested the Reds should let the duo leave for free.

On 25 November, sources told this site that the Merseysiders have pulled the plug on contract talks with Keita, 27, and are now willing to let him leave.

The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and is free to agree a pre-contract with an overseas side in January.

The Guinea international will likely depart Anfield for free in the summer.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, as relayed by Anfield Watch (27 November), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to join Keita and leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Both players have struggled for minutes with injury problems throughout their Anfield careers.

When asked if Liverpool would be foolish to let the pair leave for free, Hutton told Football Insider:We are talking about two guys who have not played a lot of football.

It is not ideal letting assets go for nothing but if you have got a plan moving forward and targets to bring in then you need to free up space. Some people need to go it is quite as simple as that.

They are the boys that Jurgen Klopp sees that he does not need so you have to kind of cut your losses at some point.
