Liverpool told to replace Fabinho with ‘perfect’ teen after source’s transfer update – Agbonlahor

Liverpool need to sign Jude Bellingham in the summer if they want to compete with Man City next season, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Bellingham would be the “perfect” upgrade on Fabinho.

A German source told Football Insider at the end of last month (30 March) Liverpool are one of a number of English clubs interested in the Borussia Dortmund 18-year-old.

It is understood the Bundesliga giants are trying to tie him down to a new contract even though his current deal runs until 2025.

They also want to bring his younger brother Jobe, 16, from Birmingham City in an attempt to keep him at the club.

“It’s going to be tight between Liverpool and Man City from now and the end of the season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“But if Liverpool want to continue to compete with Man City they’ve got to sort out their centre-midfield. They need more legs in there. Bellingham would be a perfect signing.

“Fabinho looked poor all game. Not mobile enough and very leggy.

“I’m sure that’s somewhere Klopp will look at in the summer because if Man City do get someone like Haaland, they are going to be clear.

“Man City had better legs in there and that’s why they were the better team.

“There are improvements to be made for Liverpool.”

Bellingham senior has scored 10 times and provided 17 assists in 85 games for Dortmund across all competitions.

His younger brother made his senior debut for Birmingham in January and now has two first-team games to his name.
