Liverpool ‘upset’ by crushing Calvin Ramsay update – expert

Frank McAvennie has insisted Calvin Ramsay is in the best place to recover from a long-term injury at Liverpool.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Jurgen Klopp won’t be annoyed with Ramsay despite picking up yet another injury.

As relayed by footballscotland (12 February), the 19-year-old is facing another lengthy spell out of action after picking up another injury in what has been an injury-plagued season at Anfield.

The former Aberdeen defender joined the Reds in the summer where medical tests discovered a stress fracture in his back and he has been struggling with injuries ever since.

The right-back was set to be Trent Alexander-Arnold’s understudy but has made just two first team appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.

With this latest setback it will be tough for Ramsay to add to that tally this season.

McAvennie insisted Klopp’s side won’t be worried about the latest news.

They will be upset for him,” he told Football Insider.

It is not his fault that he has got injured again. He will get the best treatment there. No disrespect to the physios up here [in Scotland] but they have got everything in England. They have got the money to buy whatever they need.

He will have the best treatment where he is.

I do not like seeing anyone get injured, especially a young boy just starting out in his career. I can guarantee he has tried to get back quicker than he should have.

Liverpool will not be annoyed with him. Hopefully he can get fit and show the potential that he has got.

The good thing about being injured is you will be around the players all the time. If it is anything like the old days the senior players will be chatting to him and keeping his chin up.
