Liverpool urged to sign Jude Bellingham in coming days after father’s reveal – pundit
Frank McAvennie has urged Liverpool to sign Jude Bellingham this month.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker insisted the Reds need to add players this month and believes Bellingham could be the difference maker.
Last month (31 December), sources told this site that the 19-year-old’s father, Mark, would prefer his son to move to Anfield.
But the midfielder himself has had his head turned by strong interest from the likes of Man City and Real Madrid.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have made the England international a top target for the summer and Borussia Dortmund are looking for £120million-plus to let their prize asset leave.
On 6 January, as quoted by Marca, Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged Bellingham’s ability but insisted he is happy to stick with his current options.
Bellingham’s Borussia Dortmund contract runs until 2025.
McAvennie urged Liverpool to make new signings this month.
“I think Liverpool have to buy,” he told Football Insider.
“If they are going to get Bellingham I would go and get him in January because they do need him.
“Arsenal are going to run away, they look as if they are unbeatable at the moment.

“Liverpool have got to do something because they have not hit the heights that they should be hitting.
“They had a couple of injuries and they have been all over the place. If they had Bellingham in there it would be the resurgence that they need.“
