Curtis Jones is not happy playing a fringe role at Liverpool and could be tempted to find a new club this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 25-year-old has been on the fringes of Arne Slot's starting XI for large spells of the season, despite being picked to start in the Merseyside Derby against Everton.

A number of clubs across Europe have already expressed an interest in the England international after missing out in efforts to sign him during the mid-season window.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Jones could consider his future at Liverpool as part of a major squad overhaul.

Slot has already hinted that a number of players could be on their way out ahead of what will be another busy transfer window for Liverpool after a disappointing season.

Liverpool brace for Curtis Jones offers as Arne Slot plan revealed

Football Insider revealed on 18 April that Liverpool could cash in on five key players alongside the already-confirmed exits of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson.

Slot is eyeing a major overhaul of his squad, with Jones among a number of players who could move on, as they aim to raise funds for further investment.

The midfielder is already considering his future at Anfield and could weigh up his options in the summer, with clubs keeping a close eye on his situation.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "We know last season there was a big overhaul of players at Anfield with big-name signings coming in.

"Players were sacrificed to help fund that, and it’s probably going to be a similar case this year, I’m sure there’s a few players who will be moving on.

"You've got the likes of Curtis Jones, who hasn't got long left on his contract at Anfield, so his situation could change in the summer transfer window.

"He's not happy being a fringe player at Liverpool at the moment, he wants to be more involved so he could look to move on.

"There’s uncertainty about a few players in that Liverpool squad."

Who could make a move to sign Jones this summer?

A number of clubs both in the Premier League and across Europe are keeping tabs on Jones' situation and could make moves to lure him away from Liverpool.

Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in January that Spurs are interested in Jones, although the Reds will be encouraged to turn down offers.

However, after failing to establish himself as a regular in the starting XI, there is a growing possibility he could seek a move away when the window opens.

Tottenham are not the only club interested, though, with Aston Villa and Newcastle among the other Premier League clubs keeping tabs on his situation.

On the continent, clubs including Inter Milan considered moves in January but were unable to lure him away, and could reignite their interest when the window opens.
