Tottenham Hotspur will now surely submit an official bid for Cody Gakpo as Liverpool wrap up a late deal for Bradley Barcola.

Reports emerged on Thursday morning that the Reds have agreed a deal in principle to sign the PSG winger.

While it is not yet finalised, Barcola could soon make the move to Anfield for £120million.

Now, this could start a domino effect, and Spurs will see this as a prime opportunity to bring in Cody Gakpo.

Tottenham have been linked to the Netherlands international all summer, and this interest is not thought to have dissipated despite the signing of Savio and the impending addition of Omar Marmoush.

As a result, an official offer for Gakpo is likely around the corner as they look to win the signature for the winger before the transfer window closes.

Tottenham offer for Cody Gakpo is inevitable

After Sky Sports’ report that Liverpool and PSG have reached an agreement in principle for Barcola, a Tottenham bid for Gakpo feels inevitable.

Spurs have been chasing the attacker for months, and he is clearly someone Roberto De Zerbi wants to bring in.

With Liverpool also chasing another winger alongside Barcola, they could be willing to part with Gakpo once Barcola officially signs.

Therefore, Tottenham will not have a better chance to seal the signing, especially as the fee could help the Reds bring in more targets before the deadline.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if Spurs do submit a bid, and if it will be accepted before the transfer window slams shut.

What other business could Tottenham complete this summer?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Tottenham are open to offers for Pape Sarr this summer.

The Lilywhites are fielding significant interest in the Senegal international and Galatasaray could make a bid for the midfielder.

Sarr is also attracting interest from the Premier League, with Aston Villa previously believed to be admirers.

The 23-year-old is keen on a departure from the North London club after falling out of De Zerbi’s plans.

However, it remains to be seen if Sarr is able to secure a move away before the transfer window closes on 1 September, in what could be a late deal.
