Loris Karius has hailed Liverpool on Twitter after they beat Tottenham 2-0 on Saturday in their Premier League encounter.

The German goalkeeper was on the bench as Jurgen Klopp’s side clinched a much-needed three points in the race for the top four and secured a valuable clean sheet.

Klopp opted once again to choose Simon Mignolet ahead of the summer signing for the Spurs match, despite the Belgian making a mistake during the 2-0 defeat at Hull last time out.

Nonetheless, attacker Sadio Mane scored two brilliant goals as the Reds ended their barren run with their star man running the show.

After the game, shot-stopper Karius took to his personal Twitter account to deliver this message to supporters.

“Back to winning ways,” said Karius. “Well done everyone. Great atmosphere at Anfield today.”

Karius has played 16 Premier League, EFL Cup and FA Cup matches for Klopp’s side this season, helping his team secure six clean sheets during those games.

Since his summer move, the youngster has come under scrutiny for his performances between the sticks, in particular, his display during the late 4-3 defeat at Bournemouth earlier on in the campaign.

Karius last played a Premier League game for the Merseyside club during the 2-2 draw at home to West Ham in December where his keeping was once again put into questioning.

Klopp’s side next trip will be to the Midlands where they take on Premier League champions Leicester City on February 27.
