Loris Karius set to quit Newcastle United next week after source’s reveal – pundit
Frank McAvennie has insisted Loris Karius will quit Newcastle United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker suggested the reason Newcastle recalled Martin Dubravka is because Karius is leaving.
On Tuesday (10 January), sources told this site that the Magpies have until next week to make a decision on the 29-year-old’s future due to a clause in his contract.

The keeper’s short-term deal at St James’ Park expires at the end of the month and Eddie Howe’s side have until 16 January to decide to extend his contract or end it.
On 1 January, Newcastle confirmed that Dubravka has been recalled from his loan spell at Man United in order to provide further competition for first choice Nick Pope.
Dubravka’s contract runs until 2025 and Pope’s deal expires in 2026.
Dubravka made just two appearances for United during his brief spell at Old Trafford.
Karius has not made a single appearance for Newcastle this season.
When asked if the Magpies need three goalkeepers, McAvennie told Football Insider: “They brought Dubravka back from loan that means Karius is going.

“They are not taking up the option in his contract. They will not have three top keepers on the pay roll.
“That is not going to happen I would not have thought. They might buy another to send on loan just in case. But they only need two top keepers, you do not need three.“
