‘This is it’ – Lucas Radebe makes Leeds 2017-18 prediction

By Harvey Byrne

Former Leeds defender Lucas Radebe has predicted that the 2017-18 season will be the one that will see the famous club finally win promotion.

The Yorkshire giants have been looking to win promotion to England’s top-flight for 13 years now after suffering relegation in 2004.

In the last campaign they came close to putting an end to their wait, spending the majority of the season in the Championship’s top six until an end of season collapse saw them finish in seventh and five points behind the play-offs.

Leeds have since been taken over by Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani as well as appointing Thomas Christiansen as manager and Radebe shared on his personal Twitter account on Friday that he believes the club are going to see some success in the next campaign.

Radebe himself was part of the Leeds team for 11 years between 1994 and 2005 and was part of the side which suffered relegation under Eddie Gray.

The prestigious club have since suffered a miserable few years, which even saw them drop down to the third tier between 2007 and 2010.

But, after Radrizzani brought back Elland Road alongside investing in the team this summer many believe the feel good factor to be back at the club.
