Luis Diaz: Liverpool star victim of ‘clear’ injustice as controversial footage analysed – Ex-Fifa official
Keith Hackett has claimed Luis Diaz was the victim of a major injustice as Liverpool beat West Ham 1-0 on Saturday (5 March).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Fifa and Premier League referee claimed both Craig Dawson and Kurt Zouma should have been shown a yellow card after fouling Diaz in the same phase of play.
As shown on the BBC’s Match of the Day programme, the Colombian picked the ball up well inside his own half before carrying the ball to the edge of the West Ham penalty area.

He was brought down by Zouma just outside the 18-yard box and rode a foul from Dawson en route.
Dawson was shown a caution for the challenge but Zouma got away with just giving away a free kick.
“For part of this game I was listening on the radio and I was led to believe he gave two yellows,” Hackett said after analysing the footage with Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“In fact, he didn’t. I’m critical because he didn’t give out two yellow cards. He gave Dawson a yellow card but this was a clear double caution and he didn’t.
“On that one, it was a negative for Jon Moss.”
Diaz has had an instant impact at Anfield since his January move from FC Porto.

He has provided great competition for Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino as the Reds try to win all four trophies.
The 25-year-old started the EFL Cup final penalty shootout victory over Chelsea last month but was taken off in extra time.
In other news, it can be revealed Liverpool are on course to make a “phenomenal” £550million announcement.
