Luis Diaz responds after Liverpool confirm exit in new message

Luis Diaz reacted on social media as an exit from Liverpool was confirmed, amid growing speculation around his own future at the club.

Diaz played a key role under Arne Slot in his first season at Anfield, offering versatility by covering both the left wing and also filling in as a striker.

The Colombian registered 20 goal contributions in the Premier League as Liverpool clinched the title with four games to spare. But with just two years remaining on his current deal, uncertainty continues to mount.

Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are prepared to demand £70 million for Diaz this summer, having already turned down an approach from Barcelona.

However, Liverpool are said to be increasingly frustrated by the ongoing situation regarding Diaz, especially given the player’s importance to Slot’s system.

In the middle of the transfer speculation, Diaz responded on Instagram following the confirmation of a departure, adding to a week of mixed emotions for the winger and the club alike.

Luis Diaz reacts as Barry Lewtas steps down from Liverpool U21 role

Amid ongoing speculation over Diaz’s future, Liverpool have confirmed that Barry Lewtas will step down from his role as Under-21s head coach this summer.

The club posted on Instagram: “Liverpool FC can confirm Barry Lewtas is to step down from his role as head coach of Liverpool U21s. After 12 years of service, Barry’s influence has been felt throughout the Academy and he leaves with our very best wishes.”

Diaz was among several senior players who reacted to the news by liking the post, alongside Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones and club captain Virgil van Dijk.

Lewtas worked with a number of current first-team players during their youth development, including Jones, Conor Bradley at U16 level, and Harvey Elliott — who is now also the subject of exit links away from Liverpool.

Liverpool’s U21 side finished a disappointing 16th in the table this season, collecting just 27 points. The club will now begin the search for a new head coach to lead the next generation.

While Diaz’s future remains uncertain, another name reportedly nearing the exit door is Darwin Nunez.

Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are expecting Nunez to leave this summer as the club targets a new centre-forward under Slot.

Nunez is one of several attacking players linked with a move away. While Saudi clubs had shown interest in the striker during the January window, and it remains to be seen if that interest resurfaces.
