Real Madrid ace delivers verdict on Tottenham star man
By Amir Mir
Luka Modric has called Tottenham striker Harry Kane “unbelievable” and stated that Spurs can win the Premier League title in the future.
Real Madrid ace Modric was full of praise for his former club and their star man, Kane, who has scored 19 Premier League goals this season.
The England international is currently on the sidelines with an ankle injury, but he has played a pivotal part in his club fighting for a Champions League spot this season.
It is highly unlikely that the north London club will close the ten point gap on leaders Chelsea with 11 games remaining, but Modric was positive on what the future holds for Spurs.
“Now they are real contenders for the title, maybe not this year, but if they keep going in the right direction, with a new training ground and new stadium, the great support, they have all the qualities around. Hopefully, in the future, they can win the Premier League,” Modric told Sky Sports.
“He was mainly training with us, but he was there. He was a little boy, and now he is huge. He improved a lot, he is an unbelievable player.”
Mauricio Pochettino guided the north London club to a third-placed finished in the Premier League last season.
During that campaign, Kane beat the likes of Jamie Vardy, Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa to the golden boot award.
At this moment in time, he is leading the race once again, joint with Everton powerhouse Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium international has the opportunity to overtake Kane in the scoring charts while he is in the treatment room.
Lukaku’s biggest chance will be against relegation-threatened Hull City on Saturday afternoon at Goodison Park.
The former Chelsea player has scored in his last five home encounters, scoring an impressive eight goals in front of his own supporters.
In other Tottenham news, this player has sent a warning message to the club’s London rivals.
