'Madrid come calling', 'Fantastic' – Newcastle fans rave over latest official reveal

Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to rave over news that Paul Dummett has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
The Magpies revealed news of the Welsh international’s new deal via their official Twitter account and official website on Thursday, confirming that the 26-year-old agreed terms to a contract which could extend until 2022.

Dummett, who is one of the club’s longest serving players after breaking through the youth ranks at St James’ Park, has established himself as a first team regular with a series of solid performances at both left back and centre back over the past couple of years.
Fans were delighted to hear news of the two-cap Wales international’s new deal, and promptly took to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

Dummett, who made his debut for the club back in 2013, has gone on to make a total of 131 appearances for the club across all competitions, which included turning out in all but one of their matches in their Championship winning campaign last season.
However the current campaign got off to a nightmare start for the defender, as he lasted just seven minutes in the opening clash against Tottenham, picking up a hamstring injury which ruled him out for nearly four months, limiting him to just 11 outings in both the league and the cups.
In other Newcastle United news, the club have committed to a £2million fee for an international attacker.
