Man City 115 charges: Keith Wyness reacts as new image emerges

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed a verdict on the Man City 115 charges case is still likely to come in Easter 2025 despite news of a delay.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – expressed his hope that both sides can find a “settlement” to end the matter when the verdict drops.

An independent commission hearing into the 115 charges started on 16 September and was originally expected to last 10 weeks.

However, The Lawyer reported on 27 November the hearing was paused while the two parties prepared their closing arguments.

The publication updated on Wednesday (4 December) with images of barristers from the Premier League and City heading into the secret hearing in central London.

City have always maintained innocence in their fight against the charges and claim they have irrefutable evidence to prove it.

Man City verdict still set to come in Easter, says Wyness

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I don’t think this news really impacts the timeline we’ve been talking about.

“This is pretty much on time.

“I think we’re still going to see something in terms of an initial decision around Easter, but it could be later.

“There’s an awful lot of evidence to go through and witness statements to consider.

“Then, we presume there will be an appeals process which could go until 2025 or 2026.

“It could be a long, long journey.

“Let’s hope both sides can come to their senses and a settlement can be found once and for all.”
