Man City are about to lose a ‘better player than Ilkay Gundogan’ – ‘it’s unforgivable’
Kyle Walker will be the biggest loss for Man City in the transfer window if he leaves the club.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that City should prevent the Englishmen from joining Bayern Munich before the end of the transfer deadline.
On 24 June, Football Insider revealed that Bayern Munich are very keen on signing the right-back this summer, with Thomas Tuchel a “huge fan” of the player.
The German giants are hoping to tempt Walker by offering him a longer contract than he is being offered from City as they try to renew his deal.
With a potential transfer on the cards, Agbonlhaor believes that City losing Walker could prove fatal.
“Walker is the best right-back in the world ,” he told Football Insider.
“He isn’t slowing down, despite being in his thirties, and he would be City’s biggest loss even with Ilkay Gundogan leaving in the same transfer window.
“You saw week in and week out players didn’t bother trying to beat Walker, as his defensive strengths made it impossible for the attacker.
“Vinicius Jr had no joy across the Champions League semi final’s against Walker and struggled.

“Walker locks the left wing down and keeps it as his own at City.
“The only reason he could want to go Bayern Munich is possibly because of Pep Gaurdiola leaving him out of the Champions League final, as sometimes as a player some decisions are unforgivable, and I am not surprised if Walker told his agent that he wants to leave after being left out.”
