Man City news: Kieran Maguire issues ‘extraordinary’ claim as new Erling Haaland details emerge
Man City need not worry about Erling Haaland’s effect on their wage structure as his teammates will recognise his “extraordinary” quality.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Norwegian superstar’s mooted move to the Etihad.
This site first revealed earlier this year (12 February) that City are in pole position to sign the Borussia Dortmund striker, 21, this summer.

And the Daily Mail reported last Wednesday (20 April), that City are now ready to trigger his £62million release clause.
It is also claimed that the goalscoring sensation could bank £500,000 per week at City, £115,000 more than current highest earner Kevin De Bruyne.
Former European Golden Boot winner Kevin Phillips told this site last Sunday (23 April) that Haaland’s arrival could spark a contract free-for-all.
But Maguire does not think his astronomical salary will have a direct impact on City’s wage structure.
“I don’t think wage structure will be an issue because City doesn’t have step-up clauses in contracts,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“For some clubs, there will be automatic step-ups that mean they match the highest-paid player.
“Also, the other players realise what’s going on and the extraordinary calibre of player they are bringing in.”

Haaland, who joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg in January 2020, has a remarkable tally of 25 goals and eight assists in just 27 games this season.
City remain one point clear at the top of the Premier League with five games to go.
