Man City could sell Raheem Sterling to fund Erling Haaland deal after source’s Alfe Inge reveal – pundit
Man City should sell Raheem Sterling to fund a move for Erling Haaland.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid an update on City’s hunt for the Dortmund striker.
A Man City source told Football Insider on Saturday (12 February) they are in pole position to sign the 21-year-old superstar as his father Alf Inge wants his son to sign for his former club.

Haaland has a £68million release clause that activates at the end of the season meaning the competition for his signature will be red-hot.
This site revealed on 30th April that Pep Guardiola was willing to sell Sterling for the right offer in the summer of 2021.
McAvennie claims City should offload the England international, paving the way for Haaland to join.
“There was talk of Sterling leaving last summer,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I wonder if City might look to move him on again if they are going for Haaland.
“They really don’t need another attacker so if one comes in then I think they will have to move someone on.
“It’s a bit too early for Grealish to go even though he hasn’t hit the ground running.
“I’m only saying Sterling because of the rumours last summer.
“But if I had a choice of Sterling and Haaland, I know who I’m picking.
“That’s an upgrade for me and maybe Sterling would be open to a move.”

Sterling has made 31 appearances for City this season.
He has scored 13 goals.
