Man City ‘exploring’ sensational late Joshua Kimmich deal – sources
Man City are exploring the possibility of signing Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich in a sensational late-January deal, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Germany international is “taking his time to make a decision” on his future.
The 29-year-old is a proven player at the highest level who would be able to slot straight into City’s starting lineup if they signed him.
Kimmich is into the final six months of his contract at the Allianz Arena and is now deciding what he wants to do next.
City are exploring the possibility of a deal, especially due to the fact he’s capable of playing right back if needed.
Kimmich has worked with Pep Guardiola in the past, and the two men could link up again at the Etihad Stadium this month.
Man City want Joshua Kimmich to bolster their midfield
City are looking to sign a central midfielder this January in a bid to provide Guardiola with further options after Rodri’s season-long injury.
Kimmich has the experience to be able to do that, especially in the Champions League where City will be aiming to compete.
The defensive midfielder remains a consistent presence in the Munich midfield, having played 28 games in all competitions this season.

However, City are focusing on signing the Brazil international on a loan deal after having spent over £100million already this month.
