Man City fans all say the same as Tino Livramento transfer update emerges

Man City supporters are all in agreement over the potential signing of Tino Livramento based on his injury record.

The 23-year-old full-back is currently sidelined at Newcastle United, having been missing since the beginning of January after being stretchered off against Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola is clearly a big admirer of the England international, with links to Livramento over the last few campaigns, but his continuous injury problems could be seen as a major pitfall.

Nonetheless, according to talkSPORT (17 February), the Citizens are ready to make a push for Livramento, and while the Magpies want to tie him down to a new contract, he is in no rush to decide his future.

Tino Livramento is far too injury-prone for Man City move

With many believing that Livramento could cost upwards of £70million, Man City fans are not prepared to spend big on a player who has spent much of the 2025-26 campaign on the sidelines.

Vanderson and Givairo Read have been tipped as potential right-back signings in the future, with the Citizens being urged not to go near the Newcastle defender this summer.

Despite one supporter admitting that he is an “excellent” player, the general consensus is that Livramento is just too injury-prone, and City fans are clearly frustrated by the current player’s issues.

Livramento’s injury history speaks for itself ahead of the summer

He tore his cruciate ligament during his Southampton days, seeing him miss 64 games in 2021/22, before missing 11 games with an ankle injury during the 2023/24 campaign.

With 13 games missed during the 2025-26 campaign before his most recent setback, the supporters certainly have a point about his dismal record when it comes to staying fit.

There is absolutely no doubt that Livramento is one of the most talented full-backs in the Premier League, but unless City can ensure his fitness, it is not a deal worth doing in the summer.

Guardiola has other problem areas to fix, not just across the back line, and he cannot do that if £70million is splashed on the right-back before anything else.
