Man City fans worried about starter who was ‘bullied mercilessly’ vs Fulham
Man City supporters were left uninspired by Matheus Nunes’ performance against Fulham in their slim 5-4 victory on 2 December.
Despite claiming all three points, Man City fans were left troubled by some of Pep Guardiola’s tactical decisions against Fulham.
The Cityzens breezed through the first half, which saw Erling Haaland become the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the Premier League.
However, sloppy mistakes in the second 45 ignited an intense comeback from the Cottagers who were unfortunate not to come away with something from the match.
In the aftermath of the narrow victory, Man City supporters were angry with Nunes‘ display with the defender struggling for the second game in-a-row.

Calls for Matheus Nunes to be dropped from Man City starting XI after another horror show
Nunes was berated by Man City fans in their 3-2 win over Leeds on 29 November, highlighting the Portuguese’s recent woes at the back.
In fact, Football Insider had recommended Guardiola to drop Nunes against Fulham due to his terrible display against the Whites a game prior.
The suggestion fell on deaf ears as the ex-Wolves man started once again, only to be tormented by Alex Iwobi, Kevin and Samuel Chukwueze.
The Cottagers found particular joy down the Cityzens’ right-hand side and, on another day, could’ve snatched a point at the death.

The number 27 won just two of his four tackles as well as being dribbled past on two separate occasions.
Conversely, the 27-year-old only completed 19 of his 26 passes in the opposition half with an accuracy rate of 73 per cent, highlighting his lack of care with the ball when building up City’s attacks.
Man City supporters were less than pleased with the Portugal international’s showing, with one fan saying: “You can’t win a title with…Matheus Nunes as your starting right-back.” with another adding: “Please, what will it take for Pep [Guardiola] to bring back [Abdukodir] Khusanov, I’m tired of Matheus Nunes. He was bullied mercilessly.”
