‘Man City get extra £20m as player exit news confirmed’

Kevin De Bruyne will go down as one of the finest players to grace the Premier League as he prepares to leave Manchester City this summer.

The Belgium international’s contract situation has been in the spotlight in recent months after the two parties failed to make progress in their renewal talks.

The speculation has now been put to bed after De Bruyne confirmed his decision to leave Man City once his contract expires on 30 June.

The 33-year-old joined the Premier League champions from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for £54.5million in 2015.

The midfielder has since gone on to claim six top-flight titles, two FA Cups, five Carabao Cups and the Champions League during his 10-year stint at the Etihad.

It is so far unclear whether De Bruyne will play for Man City at the Club World Cup, with his contract running out midway through the 32-team competition, which is set to take place in the US between 15 June and 13 July.

Kevin De Bruyne unlikely to match Lionel Messi deal

De Bruyne looks like he could be heading to the MLS this summer as Inter Miami are understood to hold his discovery rights, handing them the first opportunity to negotiate a deal with him.

The Belgian playmaker has seen his influence at the Etihad diminish in recent months as injuries appear to have finally caught up with him.

He’s started in just 20 of his 32 appearances in all competitions this season, registering four goals and seven assists in what has been a disappointing campaign for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Although De Bruyne missed several games with a hamstring issue last season, he still managed to register six goals and 18 assists in 26 appearances on the way to helping Man City claim a fourth successive Premier League title.

The midfielder’s current deal is worth £400,000 a week – or £20.8million a year – ensuring the Manchester giants will make big savings on their wage bill once his contract expires.

Guardiola’s side couldn’t really justify offering him similar terms as he heads into the final stages of his career and injuries have become a reoccurring issue.

De Bruyne is unlikely to be offered a £20million deal at Inter Miami, with Lionel Messi’s contract believed to be worth around £16million a year with the MLS side.

However, the move would allow him to link up with Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba as they compete for titles in Miami.

Man City triple exit on the cards after Kevin De Bruyne news

Football Insider revealed on 30 March Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic could also leave Man City this summer alongside De Bruyne.

Etihad chiefs have identified Tijjani Reijnders as a potential target as they look to freshen up their midfield options.

AC Milan are looking for a fee in the region of £50million for the Netherlands international, who has registered 13 goals and four assists in 45 appearances this season.

Man City are hoping to offer the 26-year-old Champions League football next season, but they have a battle on their hands as they currently sit sixth in the Premier League table.
