Finance guru: Man City have ‘huge’ transfer plan after latest from South America
Man City could use a new outpost in Brazil to recruit and develop talented youngsters.
That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about City Football Group’s latest international plans.
Respected Brazilian outlet UOL reported last Thursday (24 February) that the conglomerate is actively searching for a club in the Brazilian market.

CFG already own 10 clubs across the world, including Uruguayan side Montevideo City in South America.
It is claimed that CFG are aiming to take over a low-status club in the region rather than an established name.
Plumley assessed the merits of this strategy and the bearing it could have on City’s recruitment and development strategy.
“The brand is big enough that they don’t need to go for the big hitters,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“There are also those links to players and talent development. You can move players around the multi-club network.
“That is always a huge, huge factor whenever we talk about this. It gives you that freedom to look at bringing players through on a wider scale.
“You can give your young players game time at a good level and bring them through in the same model as Man City, which can be really important.”

City signed 18-year-old Brazilian winger Kayky from Fluminense last summer.
They also have fellow Brazilian stars Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho and Ederson on the books.
