Man City news: Finance guru issues ‘major fall-out’ claim amid probe twist
Any “major fall-out” in terms of punishments for Man City over alleged FFP breaches will come from the Premier League and not Uefa.
So says finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about fresh allegations of financial misconduct at the Etihad.
City overturned a two-year Uefa competition ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport when allegations from Der Spiegel surfaced in February 2020.

The same outlet published new leaked documents last Thursday (7 April) that appear to show City violating a range of FFP regulations.
The reigning Premier League champions are accused of artificially boosting their sponsorship income in order to circumvent cost controls.
It is also alleged that payments made by City were cleared by the Abu Dhabi state office, which is illegal under Premier League rules on state ownership.
Der Spiegel maintains that the Premier League’s investigation into City’s conduct is now into its fourth year
Plumley claims that Uefa will be reluctant to take aim at City again and that the responsibility therefore lies with the Premier League.
“There’s a couple of things going on here,” the Sheffield Hallam University told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“You have Uefa regulations and Premier League regulations, either in terms of FFP or more general rules.
“The general crux of the accusations is that City have been inflating payments to get around FFP with the funding from the state.
“We are looking at governance here. Any major fall-out from this will come from the Premier League, as Uefa have already tried to take City on and lost.
“The Premier League have been looking at them for years but there’s been no action yet.”

City are also alleged to have flouted Uefa rules over payments to underage players.
They currently lead the Premier League by a single point and are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
