Man City news: Pep Guardiola ‘wowed’ by Harry Kane after source’s transfer reveal – pundit
Pep Guardiola will have been “wowed” by Harry Kane and will know he is “perfect” for Man City, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict after Kane’s sensational performance in Spurs’ 3-2 win over Man City last weekend (21 February).
The striker scored twice, including an injury-time winner, at the Etihad as Tottenham stunned the champions.
A Man City source told Football Insider earlier this month (3 February) club chiefs have privately admitted they should have signed Kane in the summer rather than Jack Grealish.
“I don’t think the game was an audition for Kane,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“It will have refreshed Pep Guardiola’s mind, for him to think ‘Wow, this player would be perfect for me’.
“It probably took Harry Kane a bit longer to get over everything that happened in the summer.
“Earlier in the season, I got asked the question who would I rather have out of Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo in a cup final right now. I chose Kane and I stand by that.
“Yes, Ronaldo of six or seven years ago but right now Kane offers more and I’d take him every day of the week. For me, he’s a better finisher.

“Harry Kane is the best striker in the Premier League and that performance against Man City was one of the best I’ve seen in a very long time.
“It was against one of the best defences in the Premier League, if not Premier League. Everybody talks about Walker, Diaz, Laporte and Cancelo but Kane destroyed them.”
