Man City news: Pundit suggests real reason for Erling Haaland approach as statement issued
Alan Hutton has insisted there is βabsolutely no chanceβ Man City will allow Erling Haaland to leave on a 28-day loan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender suggested non-league side Ashton United were just trying to attract attention by approaching the Manchester giants.
On 14 November the club released a statement confirming that they have submitted a 28-day loan approach for Haaland.
The clubβs manager Michael Clegg insisted his side want to help keep the 22-year-old fit over the international break.
16 City players have been called up by their respective nations to compete in the Qatar World Cup.
Haalandβs international side Norway will not be competing in the tournament
As reported by the Daily Mail (11 November), the striker will enjoy three weeks away from the Etihad as the remaining City players jet off for a short warm-weather camp in Abu Dhabi during the competition.
When asked if there was any likelihood City will be considering the short-term loan, Hutton told Football Insider: βAbsolutely no chance whatsoever that that would ever happen.
βImagine if he got injured or something happened to him. As a footballer you are not even allowed to play charity matches. You have to be allowed by your team.

βFor insurances purposes if I was to go away and get injured, who covers the costs of that and the wages? So there is absolutely no way that would happen.
βThat is probably why they are doing it because all eyes are on them now.β
