Man City slammed by expert after ‘absolutely crazy’ Erling Haaland update – ‘really?’
Man City should not pay Erling Haaland £500,000-per-week if he joins them this summer.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest on the Dortmund striker.
This site first revealed earlier this year (12 February) that City are in pole position to sign Haaland this summer.

According to Sky Sports (20 April), Pep Guardiola’s side are now ready to trigger the 21-year-old’s €75million (£62million) release clause in a bid to bring him to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
Reports claim the Norway international could scoop a £500,000-a-week wage if a deal can be reached during the post-season.
McAvennie called this reported wage “absolutely crazy”.
“£62million is a bargain but it’s going to be half a million a week in wages,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Really? That is absolutely crazy, it’s not bad for him though. I don’t think it’s about money for him.
“Other people will take care of the money, he’s only a young lad. He loves scoring goals, that’s the main thing.
“He just wants to play football and he scores every time he plays. He is worth every penny.
“That being said, no one should be earning that much money every week.
“It’s ridiculous but that’s the industry we work in. The money is there and Man City are seemingly happy to pay it, which is mad.
“Let’s just hope he performs.”

Man City sit top of the Premier League and face a Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid next week.
Haaland has netted 25 goals in 26 games this term.
