Kieran Maguire: Man City sponsors are ‘loving it’ as new high-tech project begins
Man City attract such a high volume of big-ticket sponsors because of their extraordinary recent success on the pitch.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about City’s latest high-tech sponsorship initiative.
As reported by iNews last Friday (18 February), City are working with Sony to create a Metaverse version of the Etihad Stadium.

It is understood that club chiefs predict that they can sell thousands of match tickets and expand their revenue base in the virtual reality sphere.
The reigning Premier League champions trousered over £270million in commercial income for the Covid-hit 2020-21 season.
And it is no surprise to see them partner with the biggest names in the sponsorship game given their illustrious recent history, claims Maguire.
“Sponsors are loving it,” he told Football Insider‘s Adam Williams.
“City are starting to reap the rewards of winning trophies and of this period of dominance on the pitch.
“That is very appealing to sponsors. Sponsors see Man City as having a very high chance of staying at the ultra-elite level consistently.
“They have done their assessments and believe that’s where the money lies. They want to see their products pictured next to major trophies.”

City reached the final of the Champions League last term and won the Premier League for the third time in four years.
They are top of the tree in the league this season but dropped points after their 3-2 defeat to Tottenham last Saturday (19 February).
