Man City star De Bruyne set for Saudi move with announcement soon – Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Man City star man Kevin de Bruyne is “likely” to join a Saudi Pro League club.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – revealed the Saudi Public Investment Fund is poised to buy four more clubs in their domestic league, and claimed an announcement on De Bruyne’s future could come when those deals are made official.
Football Insider revealed in October 2023 that Saudi clubs were planning to offer Man City superstar De Bruyne a huge salary package to join the footballing project in the Middle East.
The Belgium international recently spoke out on the potential move, claiming he is currently set to stay at City for the 2024-25 campaign.
However, he admitted the move could provide stability for “family, my relatives, my grandchildren, my great-grandchildren and my friends”.
Wyness claimed Saudi clubs will pay “top dollar” to land the midfielder as he is still in “top physical shape”.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I think De Bruyne is likely to move.
“Saudi will pay top dollar because De Bruyne is still in top physical shape, he’s still playing in the Euros.
“He’s a big name, which the Saudis will like.
“This is yet to be announced, but PIF bought the first four clubs in the Saudi Pro League – and they are set to add four more clubs to that group very soon.
“De Bruyne is someone who could become a marquee signing for that next group of clubs.

“I think he’s being stored up for when that becomes official.
“You’ll then see a spread of talent which will improve the league overall.”
