Man City star Ederson close to move after ‘phenomenal’ £47m offer – Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed it will be hard for Man City shot-stopper Ederson to turn down a lucrative Saudi Pro League move.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs including those in Saudi Arabia – revealed “talks” from the 30-year-old’s camp are “positive” about the move.
Football Insider revealed on 30 May that Man City are seriously considering selling first-choice goalkeeper Ederson.
He has been the subject of strong interest in Saudi Arabia and is believed to be weighing up the merits of a potential switch to the Middle East.
The Daily Star have claimed (6 July) that Al Nassr have offered Ederson £900,000-a-week (almost £47million per year) to join the club.
Al Nassr already have former City teammate Aymeric Laporte, Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo on their books.
Ederson closing in on ‘£900,000-a-week’ Saudi move, says Wyness
Wyness claimed the Saudi side have improved their facilities “incredibly” in recent years.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “We could now see some movement on that.
“I do think there is a chance of him going down to Saudi.
“The talks and the rumours coming from his side are all pretty positive.
“I’ve been to Al Nassr. I’ve seen the stadium and the whole facility, and since Ronaldo joined – they’ve improved things incredibly.

“There was a lot of construction when I was there.
“The numbers are phenomenal. It’s hard for a player, particularly a goalkeeper at his age, to turn that down.”
