Man City star Julian Alvarez will reject Bayern Munich offer – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Man City star Julian Alvarez will not consider a move to Bayern Munich despite his lack of starts this term.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 23-year-old’s fresh contract closes the door on a potential exit.
According to German outlet Bild (23 May), Alvarez is at the “top of the list” for Bayern Munich as they plot the signing of a new striker this summer.
The Bundesliga giants are yet to adequately replace former talisman Robert Lewandowski after his departure to Barcelona last summer (2022).
Alvarez signed a new five-year contract at Man City back in March amid reported interest from El Clasico giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The World Cup winner has made 48 appearances across all competitions this term, but just 22 of those outings have come as part of the starting lineup.
He has notched 17 goals and five assists in a potentially treble-winning season for Man City.
When asked if Alvarez could be tempted by a Bayern Munich move, Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “No.
“He’s just signed a new contract, so Man City won’t even consider a bid.
“He’s still getting game time. If Haaland gets an injury, he’s right in there. He can play in other positions as well.
“Man City is a club who have just won their third Premier League in a row. You could win the treble this season.

“Why would you want to leave? Bayern Munich aren’t even playing the best football at the moment.
“Alvarez looks happy at Man City, and I’m sure he will get more and more game time next season.”
