Man City tipped to accept ‘£60m’ Rodri offer, they have already found replacement who is ‘even better’
Manchester City have been backed to sell Rodri and bring in a midfield replacement who is even better.
Pep Guardiola let a number of senior players leave over the summer, with Jack Grealish joining Everton on loan and Kyle Walker signing for Burnley.
Man City also released Kevin De Bruyne, and have been criticised for letting the midfielder go, due to his recent performances for Napoli and Belgium.
After spending the majority of last season on the sidelines, Rodri suffered yet another injury before the international break, and his fitness levels are now being called into question.

Man City may want to get rid of Rodri
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Man City could let Rodri go at the end of this season.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that the Spaniard’s injury record is a concern, and that Guardiola’s side may want to cash in.
Rodri’s contract expires in the summer of 2027, so he has under two years left on his current deal.
Wyness added that if he is going to move away, it will be this year, and Man City could get around £60million for him.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think that for Rodri, it’s going to be his injury record. That will be the one thing that might see Man City let him go.
“Now, Rodri’s contract expires in 2027, so if something’s going to happen, it’ll be this year. And I think that he may make the move. I’ve just got a feeling in my bones that he’s somebody who may want to go and revitalise his career elsewhere.
“Look, he’s a talented player. We all know Rodri. He’s great to watch. He does his job superbly. And I think that something around about the £60m to £70m mark might be the sort of number that City would expect, and I think they could get for Rodri going forward. So yes, I do expect to see some movement there.”
Man City have superb replacement for Rodri
In recent weeks, Man City have been linked with Joao Neves from Paris Saint-Germain, after he had a superb campaign last season.

The Portugal international helped his side win the treble and recently ranked 19th on the Ballon d’Or shortlist.
Wyness believes he could be a direct replacement for Rodri.
He said: “I’m hearing there’s a lot of interest from City in Neves at PSG. I expect to see a replacement for Rodri. Neves is younger and has an engine to die for, from what I’ve been told, and so he may be the direct replacement. A freshening up of age.
“A year ago it would’ve been unthinkable to get rid of Rodri from the City set up but he could go, and City will find better replacements and move on. Football’s amazing in that way, that you can find ways to reinvent yourselves and hopefully get better.”
