Man City tipped to sanction ‘phenomenal’ 25-year-old’s exit after Erling Haaland latest – pundit

Man City will sanction the exit of Gabriel Jesus if a deal for Erling Haaland can be completed this summer.

That is the view of ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Jesus, 25, potentially joining Arsenal.

According to The Athletic‘s David Ornstein (22 April), the Gunners’ technical director Edu has held talks with Jesus’s representatives regarding a move.

The Brazil international, who has just over one year on his contract at the Etihad, is said to be open to the prospect.

Robinson suggested Jesus could leave with Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez all ahead of him in the pecking order.

“He has been in phenomenal form in recent weeks,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“But his future is very much dependent on who comes in this summer.

“He has shown that he can play wide this season and still be a threat. But is he better than Grealish, Foden, Sterling or Mahrez? No. When you look at the pecking order, he is far down.

“If Haaland comes in he is not going to get a game. You can see a move to Arsenal happening but it depends on who Manchester City bring in.”

As reported by Daily Mail (20 April), City are preparing to activate the Haaland’s £62million release clause.

It is said that the striker could sign a £500,000-a-week contract at the Etihad.
