Man City tipped to start Ruben Dias v Liverpool after development – pundit
Ruben Dias will make his long-awaited return from injury when Man City take on Liverpool in the FA Cup on Saturday.
That is the view of former Premier League striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 24-year-old’s potential impact on this season.
Dias has been sidelined through injury since Man City’s 2-0 win over Peterborough United on 3 March.
The centre-half returned to City’s matchday squad on Wednesday but was an unused substitute against Atletico Madrid.
Pep Guardiola’s side take on Liverpool at Wembley on Saturday in the semi final of the FA Cup.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan for his thoughts on Dias’ return, Campbell said:
“Man City will be hoping that he can be the difference between now and the end of the season and that could be the case.
“They will be a lot harder to beat with him in the side, that is for sure. He is there best defender and their record defensive signing.
“They need him back. Pep knows that they need him if they want to win the league and the Champions League.
“There is also another opportunity for Man City in the FA Cup. I think he’ll definitely come back in against Liverpool.”

Dias has been one the Premier League’s best players since his arrival at the Etihad in September 2020.
He has contributed two goals and four assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this term.
