Man City to accept Joao Cancelo offer – sources
Man City are expected to let Joao Cancelo leave before the end of the month, sources have told Football Insider.
The 30-year-old has no future under Pep Guardiola, despite the Man City manager publicly stating there are no issues with his attitude in training.
Cancelo does have interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, and that transfer could begin to progress in the coming days.
The versatile defender spent last season on loan at Barcelona where he was a regular in the squad, making 42 appearances.
The Portugal international was left out of the matchday squad for Man City’s opening game of the Premier League season against Chelsea.
Cancelo is under contract at the Etihad until 2027.
Man City are going to cash in on Joao Cancelo
Cancelo first joined the Premier League giants in 2019 and since that point he has gone on to make 154 appearances in all competitions, playing in all manner of positions.
The Portuguese star has scored nine goals and provided 21 assists throughout his time with the Premier League giants.
However, he slipped out of the team during the 2022-23 campaign and spent the second half of that season on loan at Bayern Munich.
Cancelo has been unable to work his way back into Guardiola’s setup ever since, and is now set to be sold permanently.

Man City could still look to be active in the transfer market themselves, especially after they were dealt injury blows to Savinho and Oscar Bobb.
