Man City told to complete Omar Marmoush signing – owner source
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has urged Man City to complete the £50million signing of “magic” Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs and their owners – insisted the 25-year-old could “reinvigorate” City after their poor start to the 2024-25 campaign.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Monday (6 January) that Man City have held preliminary talks with Frankfurt star Marmoush and his representatives over a potential transfer.
It has since been widely reported that the Bundesliga side are holding out for £50million for the Egypt international.
He has notched 18 goals and 12 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions so far in the 2024-25 campaign.
Erling Haaland is the top scorer for Pep Guardiola’s side this term with 21 goals in 27 games – but Phil Foden is running second with just five strikes.
Man City must sign ‘magic’ Marmoush to complement Haaland, says Wyness
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Marmoush looks like a very exciting prospect who would fit City very well.
“He’s a different type of goalscorer to Haaland and would give them a bit of magic they’ve been needing and lacking for a while now.

“At £50million, he’d be a great signing. Yes, I can see them getting it over the line.
“I think it would really reinvigorate City.”
