Man City told to ‘let go’ Nathan Ake after latest Newcastle twist – pundit
Man City could drop their asking price for Nathan Ake to facilitate a move to Newcastle United.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the defender’s future.
As reported by The Sun (5 June), Man City have told Newcastle that Ake will cost £50million after Eddie Howe’s side enquired about his availability.

The Netherlands international is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until June 2025.
The 27-year-old, who played under Howe at Bournemouth, made just 10 Premier League starts in the 2021-22 season while making 27 appearances in all competitions.
Kenny insists Ake is not a £50million player but claims Newcastle and Man City could still come to an agreement over singing the defender.
“He’s definitely not a £50million player, for me,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“You can bet the price tag is higher just because it is Newcastle United. They have money coming out of their ears.
“I’m sure if Nathan Ake wants to get out of Man City and play some football, they have to cut some slack with Newcastle.
“Surely they don’t want Ake there not doing anything when they could be getting some decent money for him.
“They should let him go out so he can progress his career.”

Ake cost Man City a reported £41million in 2020.
The 26-cap defender has amassed 170 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 15 goals.
